bldmid Command
Purpose
Creates and/or updates files for Developer and Area builds that would
normally be created/updated during the bldretain process.
Syntax
bldmid
Description
The bldmid command creates and/or updates four files used in the Developer
and Area build process. These files are:
$TOP/PTF/$BLDCYCLE/ptfids
$TOP/PTF/$BLDCYCLE/ptfids.org
$TOP/PTF/$BLDCYCLE/defectapars
$TOP/HISTORY/abstracts
The first two files, 'ptfids' and 'ptfids.org', are simply touched by bldmid
using the UNIX 'touch' command. Thus if they did not exist prior to the
invocation of bldmid they are at least present (though possibly empty)
afterwards.
The 'defectapars' file is created by writing the defect/feature numbers
contained in a particular build, along with each defect/feature's corresponding
APAR number, in the following format:
<defect/feature #>|<APAR #>
For example:
43131|IX10987
APAR numbers are retrieved from the CMVC database using the 'Report' command.
A valid APAR number is one that is of the form:
IXinteger
ixinteger
Ixinteger
iXinteger
For example:
IX10987 or
iX20389
If the 'Report' command does not return a valid APAR number (or there is no
APAR associated with the defect/feature) then the APAR number field in the
'defectapars' file is left blank. The bldmid command overwrites the
'defectapars' file on invocation.
Each line of the 'abstracts' file contains an entry of the following form:
<APAR #><defect/feature abstract>
blank line
symptom
<@>
For example:
IX23620 SMIT:Add A SPOT, Input Device selection screen doesnt work.
Required 3.2 update.
<@>
The bldmid command appends to any previous 'abstracts' file on each invocation.
