Remove some unused variables from makefiles. (#275) 
Removed are:

* `FPFLAGS`
* `INLINE`
* `INLINEFLAGS`
* `BITBLTFILE`
* `BYTESWAPFILES`

A couple of other minor cleanups were also included.
