+Notes on fixed width fonts:
+
+- The nominal point size of each font is based on the distance in pixels
+  from the top of the 'T' to the bottom of the 'y'.
+
+- The "serif" fonts are loosely based on Prestige typewriter; "cour"
+  fonts are Courier.  The "screen" fonts have been tuned for the Sun screen.
+
+- Some fonts had different names before release 2.0; there are symbolic
+  links between the old font names and the new ones.
+
+- All fonts except the small sized ones have been extended to display
+  ISO Latin 1 (ISO 8859/1) characters. These bitmaps are displayed when
+  the font is addressed by an 8-bit single byte character.
